NAIL ART: So Easy A Bunny Could Do It.

It's rare to see any fashion blog these days without posts about nail designs, so this is our attempt. Some Girls hopes to post weekly DIY nail art designs. Today we break down the Dotted Outline Manicure. We encourage you to try & share your pictures with us (email somegirlsbtq@gmail.com). Also anyone wearing our weekly feature while shopping with us will enjoy 15% off their entire purchase!!!!
So before we get started with the nail design there are a few "PRE PAINTING" steps needed to ensure a good mobile upload.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

  • nail polish remover & cotton balls
  • nail file
  • cuticule oil
  • cuticle pusher backer
  • cuticle cutter
  • eye liner brush
  • base & top coat
  • 3 nail polish colors
  • tooth pick

Step 1. Remove old nail polish.
Step 2. File nails.

So once your nails are clean & shaped its time to maintain your cuticles.
Step 3. Drown your cuticles with cuticle oil, let soak for about 2 mins to allow them to soften.
Step 4. Use a pusher backer to push back your cuticles.

Once you have pushed back all your cuticles..
STEP 5. CAREFULLY use cuticle cutters to trim the excess cuticles.
Ok now that we have clean cuticles its time to paint!
STEP 6. Base coat: apply one coat to all nails.
STEP 7: We chose Essie's limo-scene for the base color. Apply 2 coats.

Ok now you have your base color. Some Girls suggest an optional step here to "clean your edges"...Use a small eye liner brush with nail polish remover & remove any polish around your nail beds.

Ok now we are ready to start our design. We chose black & white to border the nail.
STEP 8:  Use a piece of paper as a color palate. Use a tooth pick & begin to place dots around outside of nail, allow for some spacing.  Start with with one nail & work your way through both hands.

STEP 9. Flip the the tooth pick & use opposite color to fill in between the other dots.

STEP 10. Apply top coat & clean edges with eye liner brush. For best mobile upload results Some Girls HIGHly recommends a quick dab of cuticle oil on each nail. This will keep your cuticle moisturized & prevent chance of messing up your nails.

Ok so there are the simple steps to a very well dressed set of nails. Have fun playing with this one!!! If you have the time to try please share your picture with us (somegirlsbtq@gmail.com).
All supplies needed for this look can be found at any drug store or beauty supplies stop.

Check out our version of this little black dress that Nicole Richie looks oh-so FABulous in. The long sleeves make the dress practical for the cold winter season and it can be paired with some bright tights for extra warmth! Black dresses are my favorite, because there are ENDLESS ways to dress them up and accessorize. Wear it with an awesome pair of bright or patterned shoes and some colorful jewelery. Or, you can keep it simple and wear it alone with neutral heels and let the dress make a statement in itself. Either way, you are sure to look sexy and stunning in this not-so-typical little black dress!

1 Piece, Wear it 2 Ways!!

A simple black fitted crop top is a necessary key wardrobe piece for every fashionista. Look how we used this top to go from day to night in a matter of minutes.

For a day outfit pair your black top with high waisted pants and an over-sized cardigan. Add a long statement necklace to complete the outfit. This super cute look can be worn to class, or even on a casual date. The same crop top can be worn later in the evening when you're out on the town. Wear the top with a high waisted print skirt, and a red blazer to add a pop of color to this black and white outfit.Add a little bling for some sparkle and your set!

To get the most out of your wardrobe invest in a simple black top. It brings together every outfit, whether the sun is out, or the moon, you can always look your best.
